Ok my DH works in a hotel and they often have banquets where they make lots of extra food that never makes it out of the kitchen (back up food just in case ya know). So anyway about once a week he brings me home a doggie bag (I'm a meat and potatoes gal). So this week he brought home 2 vacuum sealed bags of filets. Each bag has 15 - 20 steaks in there. They have already been cooked. So I need help with ideas for what to do with all this meat. 3 of them went into stew today already. Any creative ideas?
Thanks

[B][U]STEAK SALAD[U][B] by Giada
4 Servings
User Rating 5 stars (my dh and I like this)
1/2 head romaine
1 1/2 cups endive, sliced crosswise
1/2 red onion, thinly sliced into rings
3 cups baby arugala
4oz. gorgonzola, crumbled
salt and pepper
1lb. grilled and chilled steak (any)
[B][U]Red Wine Viniagrette
1/2 c. red wine vinegar
3 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tsp. honey
2 tsp. salt
pepper
1 c. olive oil
Mix first 5 ingredients and slowly add the olive oil.
In lg. bowl, combine the first 5 ingredients and half the cheese. Toss with enough vinaigrette to coat. Season with salt and pepper. Arrange on platter
Cut steak crosswise into thin slices. Arrange on salad and sprinkle with remaining cheese. Drizzle more vinaigrette over the slices and serve.
To be honest, we didn't use the endive and it was still good.

Gosh I am drawing a blank. Maybe freeze them frozen for more stew later? Oh wait I have also been known to cut up leftover steak and put it in chili.

maybe some could be cut up & added to leftover beef gravy for sandwiches.
I agree with STACEY IN CALIF, we like leftover steak on salad.

Thanks I didn't even think to put some on salad. I do have one bag in the freezer. And I could use some in chilli and then freeze some.

Stir-fry! I always do this with leftovers. Use some of the frozen veggies we've been stocking up on, fry them up with sliced steak, garlic, onion, and teriaki marinade. Serve over rice or pasta (beef lo mein)

OMG, partially freeze them, and then slice them as thinly as you can. Put them into freezer bags and you have instant meals, such as Phillie steak n cheese, fajitas, stir fry, etc. What a great windfall! Lucky you!

I am envious of you...we love filets but they never seem to hit the list. I bet that was some tasty stew. :)

I was thinking those would make awesome fajitas! Chunk them up and heat with gravy for quick beef tips. Man oh man, 30 filets ... mmmmmm!

It sure was tender - yum. I'm lucky because DH and I have always worked in hotels, so we always get freebies if they're just gonna toss it anyway.
