Ok, so how's this for a problem? It's almost Thanksgiving and I've maxed out my big freezer and the three small freezers in the three fridges. Two of the fridges are FULL and the third will be soon.
Where oh where will I put all the holiday food??????????
I know it sounds like a lot but we've got 6 kids, 4 grandkids and my husban'd parents coming!
This is going to be interesting. I'm figuring we'll eat it all fast enough to make room the week before Thanksgiving but it's going to be interesting!
I'll have a major replenish to do in early December too, no doubt.
So, where is eveyone else planning on putting the turkey and dressing?

Maybe you could take a stockpile break, save some "replenishing mula", then in like a couple of weeks when the T-day sales hit and the Q's you could shop and by then have more room?? I say this because that is what I am doing now and did last year, it really did work out.

What an Awesome idea Laura!!!! There are going to be some great T day food sales and I need the room too. I think, I might have to give in and get a freezer also. i really want someplace to stick my free turkeys that I know I am going to get!!!

I've seen a lot of references to the free turkeys. Is that through BOGO deals? Who sends you qs for free turkey?

In the past I have seen "free" turkeys at various different stores but many require a $50.00 purchase. We are thinking about dining out this year.

I heard a rumor that one of my non-list stores is going to have turkey on sale this week for 18 cents a lb. Frankly that is close enough to free for me. The problem is that I haven't bought my garage freezer yet and there is NO ROOM in my kitchen freezer, particularly for something as big as a turkey.:(

I've been eating out of the freezer for the past couple of weeks. I now have room for a turkey — phew! Can't wait for those turkey sales!

Same as the others we are just eating out of the freezer now trying to make room for the holiday food. We are ordering a turducken for Thanksgiving day but since we don't know if we will like it or not I am also planning to cook a turkey breast for back up and I hope to have enough freezer room for 1 whole turkey since that's my BF favorite food. Maybe two!

I'm working on using up my stockpile too these next few weeks. Great sales coming up to take advantage of! Between veggies, chicken stock (I'm needing this!), baking ingredients not to mention turkeys, ham, etc. all going on sale before the holidays I want to make sure I have the room to put all of it!

I'm roasting my turkeys as I get them, and getting as many as I can. Then I will shred the meat, bag them in 2 cup and 3 cup sizes, and freeze for recipes. I found a great chicken enchilada casserole recipe the other day on the back of the Campbell's Cream of Chicken Verde Soup (like c o' ch but w/ green chilies added). It was fabulous and took just minutes to throw together. Plus I make chicken Enchiladas, King Ranch Chicken, etc. all the time and turkey is just as good as chicken in my book!!

Now that is a great idea blumargarita!!!! I've got a freezer on my shopping list for this week but just in case I can't fit it in, I'm gonna remember this tip!

We had a turducken one year. It was really really good. Be careful, that is a LOT of food, so with another turkey breast for backup you will have a TON of meat!
