Help me! I live in a small condo and have pretty much no room to store all my wonderful goodies that the GG has provided me :-) All my stuff is crammed into a corner and stacked. I want to get one of those 5-tier metal shelves for storage. I know some of you must have gotten them for your own storage uses, and I was wondering where you got them. I saw one at Target for $90 and it's exactly what I want, but I was hoping to get one for cheaper. Any ideas?? (Except for Craigslist - I'm already looking there!)

Thanks again,
Claire

Home Depot has some great ones and not very much money.. they are plastic but very strong and thick.... much easier to lift and put together then the metal ones... we have them in our garage and they hold a ton....

Freecycle, city or county recycling center, any stores in your area that are remodeling. My DH brought home a stack of them from a store that's being remodeled. I don't know where he thinks he's going to put them because they're not going in the house and the garage is full, too! We've been giving them away a few at a time until he has just enough for his garage junk.

I just got a computer armoire that I'm using for overflow stockpile. It's nice because there are shelves in it and I can just close the doors and no one knows what I'm hiding in there.
Forgot to add it cost less than $90. They even had one at WM for a little less.

I read a tip once about freeing up space in your linen closets....only have 2 towels per person, and have hooks for them insted of storing on the shelves, and take your extra sheets and store between the mattress & boxspring on each bed so you can free up that space, too.

I live in a condo too. I use plastic storage bins under my bed for boxed and canned goods. If you have a laundry room, can you put shelves above the washer and dryer? Some posters have suggested putting an additional row of shelves in the closet. HTH

Unfortunately we have neither a laundry room, or space under the bed (literally - it's just a box springs and mattress on the floor!). But thank you for the suggestions! And thank you to everyone else while I'm at it :-)

Look for bookshelves at Thrift stores and garage sales! You can hang a curtain on the front of them if you don't want to see your stockpile all the time.
