Default Entertainment Book?

Okay - last year (pre-GG) I purchased the Entertainment book primarily because of the monthly $5 off $50 purchase at Kroger. The book paid for itself. However, for the past month or so - now that I have a healthy stockpile - I would have to work really hard to hit $50 in one trip to Kroger.

Though my DH and I eat out - it is confined to specific restaurants that are ok with my allergies (serious to seafood, not as bad to yeast/alcohol and nuts) so we don't "experiment" with new places much.

Any recommendation on whether to get the book this year or not? Does anyone else have great experiences with the book or its coupons?

First off, Where did you get this book? I could use one of those. Do you get them at Kroger?

Second, If it were me I'd get it again and the coupons I don't use I would gift to people that I know would use them. Share the wealth as they say.

I haven't gotten the Entertainment Book in several years because I always found myself trying to use the coupons to make it worth while. We stick to chain restaurants that never seem to be represented, so other than using a couple of McDonald's and Pizza coupons, we were stuck.

I did try branching out to other restaurants to use the coupons one year.....I was NOT impressed. A couple of the restaurants didn't even exist anymore.

Then, I made an exception and bought a Las Vegas Entertainment Book before going on vacation there last year....didn't use even one coupon.

So, in your case, if the main reason you were buying it is for the Kroger thing that you don't think you'll be able to use because of GG, I would vote to skip it unless you know of someone else that will make good use of the coupons.

Sarah -
Last year I bought it from a co-worker's child for a fundraiser but I know you can order them online, etc.

Last year I bought mine on line through ebates.com which was great. This year DH has already bought one from a co-worker as a fundraiser. We always get our money's worth out of them, but we have fun choosing where we are going to go eat out of the book. Something that I am sure would be much harder if we had food allergys...

I bought one for ome of the same reason except it is $5.00 of the purchase of 50.00 at a non list store for me. Paired with the fact that sometimes they do 10 off 50.00 on thursdays its a great deal for me.

I bought mine last year at a national chain drug store (cryptic because it's a list store) when they had a $10 store Q. I believe they're running that same promotion now - check your circulars.

I think that it would depend on if I could save more than I spent on it. If it just evened out, I probably wouldn't find it worth it.
