I just place the cut up whole chicken in a pot of water and boil for an hour. Take the pieces out and cool, then shred them. I did this a few days ago. I boiled 4 chickens and made 15 cups of shredded chicken. I freeze them in 2 cup portions. I take them out and defrost them when I want to make a quick chicken recipe.
